The second season of the nationwide literary podcast competition, "CoolCAST," has concluded with an impressive tally of 193 literary casts. The coordinator, Ms. Plekhova, expressed joy in attracting even more participants than the first season. The entries ranged from creative biographical sketches to complete artistic depictions, travel notes, and even radio plays. A Diverse Pool of Participants Most contributors to this year's literary casts hailed from regions such as Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, and Poltava. Interestingly, a few entries were submitted from temporarily uncontrollable territories. Notable Literary Figures in Focus The protagonists of "CoolCAST: Writers in Your Player" were 49 personalities, including founders, innovators, experimentalists, representatives of the "Executed Renaissance," and emigrants. Leading the competition were Lesya Ukrainka with 14 literary casts and Olga Kobylianska with 11 casts. The third position was shared by Ivan Franko and Hryhoriy Skovoroda, each with 10 literary casts. Unconventional Narratives Take Center Stage Ms. Plekhova highlighted the most unexpected audio creations, emphasizing two outstanding casts. Sofia Samborska explored the life of poetess Vira Vovk using foreign sources, while Alina Miroshnychenko intricately portrayed the life of Attila Mohylny despite limited biographical facts available online. Creative Freedom and Technical Standards The format for the "CoolCAST-2023" competition retained complete creative freedom, with the only restriction being the prevention of information distortion, as assessed by the technical selection committee. Collaborative Effort and Recognition The literary podcast competition "CoolCAST" was co-organized by the Kyiv Small Academy of Sciences, the social network of literary podcasts LitCom, and the creative agency "Balyandry." The prize fund amounted to 200,000 hryvnias, and participants received special prizes and commendations from the competition's ambassadors and partners. Rich Audio Collection and Accessibility After two seasons, the CoolCAST audio collection boasts over 300 audio pieces covering works and biographies of Ukrainian writers. These can be freely listened to on the LitCom mobile application.
