Czech Republic to Gift Ukraine Mobile Libraries for Preserving Cultural Heritage

The National Library of the Czech Republic, in collaboration with Ukrainian libraries, will provide two mobile library units to safeguard printed cultural heritage. The first movable library, costing 10 million Czech crowns (408,163 euros), is scheduled to be handed over to Ukrainians as part of the Archa project. The Archa project is an integral component of the broader "Supporting Ukrainian Culture" program.
Funding for the second mobile library will be raised through a public collection in support of this initiative. Amid the Russian invasion in Ukraine, numerous cultural assets were destroyed. According to officials, this project stands as a demonstration of the Czech Republic's commitment to supporting Ukrainian culture.
