In his address, Pope Francis stated, "Let us not forget to pray persistently for those who suffer from wars in many parts of the world, especially for the dear people of Ukraine, the martyred Ukraine, as well as Israel and Palestine." The Pope concluded his remarks at the end of the audience on St. Peter's Square.
Pope Francis recounted that earlier that morning, he received two delegations—one consisting of Israelis, whose relatives are held as hostages in Gaza, and the other of Palestinians, whose relatives are suffering in Gaza. He called for prayers for these two nations, hoping for the arrival of peace.
Additionally, on Tuesday, the Day of Dignity and Freedom observed by Ukrainians, commemorating the start of the Dignity Revolution, Pope Francis participated in a screening of a film about the war in Ukraine, organized in the Vatican.
