The Irish police reported the arrest of 34 individuals in Dublin following massive disturbances triggered by a knife attack the previous day. The assailant's actions resulted in injuries to three children, sparking outrage and protests in the city.
Commissioner Drew Harris expressed concern over the radicalization of individuals through social media and the internet, marking a situation unseen for decades. During the clashes, one police officer sustained a severe injury, and protesters damaged or looted 13 stores, burnt a police vehicle, and set ablaze other transport, including a bus.
Commissioner Harris did not rule out the possibility of further actions, leading to an increased police presence in Dublin. Minister of Internal Affairs Leo Varadkar condemned the participants, stating that they "have disgraced Dublin, Ireland, their families, and themselves."
Meanwhile, reports from The Irish Sun revealed that a 5-year-old girl, critically injured in yesterday's incident, remains in a critical condition. Another 30-year-old woman, also a victim, is evaluated as serious. The suspect in the attack, hospitalized in critical condition, is under police guard.
Yesterday evening in the Irish capital, Dublin, a man armed with a knife attacked people near a school, resulting in injuries to several individuals, including three children. The same evening, Dublin experienced mass unrest in the aftermath of the incident.
