Finland has announced a financial boost of €3 million to further strengthen food security measures in Ukraine. The allocated funds will specifically aid in supporting grain exports and contribute to demining activities in rural areas.

Out of the total funding, €2 million will be directed as humanitarian assistance to other countries. Finland's support extends to the World Food Programme (WFP), which procures grain from Ukraine and exports it to African nations affected by food crises. Finland had previously provided €11.5 million to support Ukrainian grain exports.

Additionally, Finland actively supports demining efforts in Ukraine to help farmers reclaim their lands for cultivation. The program is a collaborative effort between Finland and the Ukrainian government.

The Finnish government has submitted a budget amendment proposal for 2024 to the parliament, encompassing various measures, including further support for Ukraine.

It was recently revealed that Finland has made the decision to provide Ukraine with a new package of defense assistance, showcasing the country's multifaceted support for its Ukrainian counterparts.
