Ukraine and the UK Deepen Cooperation in the Field of International Legal Assistance
Today, on December 3, 2023, Ukraine's Prosecutor General, Andriy Kostin, held a meeting with the UK Ambassador to Ukraine, Martin Harris. The central topic of discussion was the imperative need to strengthen collaboration in the realm of international legal assistance. Both parties expressed a commitment to joint efforts in establishing a global framework of comprehensive accountability for international crimes, as well as enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of mutual legal assistance.
According to information from the Prosecutor General's Office, Kostin and Harris deliberated on strategies for forming a worldwide network of accountability for international crimes, exchanging views on reinforcing interaction between Ukraine and the UK in the domain of legal assistance.
"We firmly believe that only by breaking the cycle of impunity can we pave the way for peace restoration and prevent future international crimes. We look forward to the continuation of our fruitful partnership," stated the Prosecutor General.
Kostin also expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the UK and conveyed appreciation to Attorney General Victoria Prentis for her dedication and diligence in the pursuit of justice.
