Honoring the United Forces
The National Bank of Ukraine took a momentous step in honoring the Armed Forces by presenting a new circulating commemorative coin on the occasion of Ukraine's Armed Forces Day. This coin, part of the ongoing series celebrating the country's military, pays homage to the Command of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Symbolism in Metal
Crafted with meticulous detail, the coin, with a face value of 10 hryvnias, serves as a token of gratitude and respect for the bravery and strength of those serving in this unit. The emblem of the Command, depicting traditional Cossack weaponry - a pike against the backdrop of crossed sabers - adorns the coin's face. The chairman of the National Bank, Andriy Pyshnyi, emphasized the significance, stating, "This coin engraves our deep respect for the century-old valor of Ukrainian warriors."
Unveiling and Distribution
At the presentation, attended by key figures including the Commander of the United Forces and decorated military personnel, it was revealed that nearly 10 million of these commemorative coins would gradually enter circulation as regular currency.
Official Recognition
The coin, similar to other circulating coins in Ukraine, holds mandatory acceptance at its face value for all cash transactions and bank deposits. Furthermore, the National Bank ensures their availability through banks and cash-in-transit companies.
Special Editions
A portion of the commemorative coin's circulation will be distributed in specially designed rolls, each containing 25 coins. These rolls, with a total circulation of 20,000, will be presented as souvenirs encapsulated in unique packaging featuring the emblem of the Command of the United Forces.
Availability and Purchase
Starting from December 6, 2023, interested buyers can acquire these special edition rolls through the National Bank's numismatic online store. Additionally, designated banks including "UKRGAZBANK," "RADABANK," "TASKOMBANK," and "PrivatBank" will gradually offer these coins as they are dispatched by the State Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
