Kiev’s infrastructure authorities are working tirelessly to combat icy road conditions, employing a significant workforce and specialized machinery. Throughout the night and into the morning, the city’s roads, bridges, slopes, and inclines underwent anti-icing treatments. Kiev's municipal corporation, "Kyivavtodor," mobilized 68 units of machinery and 446 workers in 57 teams for manual cleaning. These teams are focusing on treating and clearing stairs, pedestrian crossings, public transport stops, and narrow sidewalks. Over the course of a day, road workers utilized 22.9 tons of salt and 29.7 tons of sand to address the wintry conditions.

In addition to road maintenance teams, 6 units of equipment and nearly 3,300 employees from managing companies are also engaged in the cleaning efforts. Furthermore, 208 specialists from regional "green construction" teams are actively working in parks, squares, and other green spaces. Their focus lies in treating pathways and steps with anti-icing mixtures to ensure public safety.

As reported , the forecast for the Kiev region on December 7 predicts cloudy skies with occasional clear spells and no significant precipitation. Some areas may experience icy conditions on the roads. Daytime temperatures are expected to range from 2 to 4 degrees below freezing in Kiev and between 1 to 6 degrees below freezing in the surrounding region.
