Ukraine is destroying Russian aircraft at such a speed that in less than six months the Ukrainian army will reach the point of destroying entire segments of enemy tactical aviation. This became possible thanks to air defense systems, “which shoot down everything.”

Arms expert, editor-in-chief of Defense Express Oleg Katkov, in a comment to Telegraph, recalled that at the end of 2023 Ukraine received the Patriot air defense system from Germany, and at the beginning of 2024, President Vladimir Zelensky said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces received two air defense systems “that shoot down everything.”

“The President did not specify who exactly provided us with this assistance and what kind of weapons we are talking about, but there are only two options here: either Patriot or SAMP / T. In any case, the possibilities have obviously become wider. There are more installations, which means there are more "Now we can be pulled to the front edge of the front line. Of course, these are very risky operations, but they allow us to shoot down enemy aircraft. If we continue to destroy Russian "birds" at this pace, in less than six months we may reach the destruction of entire segments of enemy tactical aviation," noted the expert.

At the same time, he pointed out that it is impossible to say exactly how many and what kind of aircraft Russia has, because the Russians keep this information secret

“If everything is more or less clear to us regarding the losses, then the production volumes of new aircraft are not known for certain. In this matter, we can only rely on our intelligence data or on official statements of the Russian Ministry of Defense, which during the full-scale war announced the transfer of a batch of new aircraft for service. We don’t know exactly how many of them were in this party,” Katkov said.

At the same time, he emphasized that Russia cannot obtain or purchase aviation from its partners.

“The DPRK does not produce aircraft in principle, and China, although it produces copies of the Su-27, is unlikely to transfer them to the Russian Federation,” the expert concluded.
