In the summer of 2023, Dubinsky traveled abroad, citing his father's alleged oncology as the reason, and claiming the need for accompanying him to another country. However, the DBR, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), found that the deputy provided false information in official documents for his departure.
The General Prosecutor officially charged Dubinsky on August 8, revealing that the stated reason for travel, the father's medical treatment, was untrue. Instead, it was discovered that the deputy went on vacation, and both the deputy and his father returned to Ukraine separately, with the father returning much earlier than the elected official.
The DBR also obtained information indicating that during his stay abroad, the MP managed to visit Italy, Croatia, and Spain twice. Specifically in Spain, the suspect stayed in two hotels in Barcelona and its suburbs.
Upon reviewing the materials of the criminal case under Article 366 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, the suspect will be brought to court. The procedural guidance for this case is under the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor General's Office.
Alexander Dubinsky, on July 25, claimed in a Telegram post that he received the right to leave Ukraine at the end of June. On August 3, the Prosecutor General's Office informed about searches conducted in the MP's office concerning the forgery of documents for international travel. Subsequently, on August 9, Dubinsky publicly announced that he had been charged with the forgery of official documents for overseas travel.
