Support for Ukraine from its allies will not decrease critically next year, but it is worth thinking about the fall of next year, when the United States is likely to have a political crisis. This opinion was expressed by Valeriy Chaly, a Ukrainian diplomat, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States, on Espresso.
“There will be weapons, but these are the weapons that we are fighting with now, that’s how it will be. The worst-case scenario, I think, will not come true when support for next year from the United States is blocked. And the average scenario will be when the military-technical unit leaves, then "There will most likely be weapons. I'm talking about the difficulty of getting money into the budget, but the types of weapons will be approximately the same as now," the diplomat said.
In his opinion, everything should consist of the stability of the internal ability to produce shells primarily here in Ukraine, and the external one - the continuation, at least at the same level, of stable support.
"I expect that this level of support will not decrease dramatically by the summer, there will be different ways. There are a lot of signals why by the summer. The IMF has a financial plan until July 15. Money comes through the IMF, also American ones. This means that for some reason everyone has calculated that that somewhere before July 15, the hot phase of the war should have ended. And so far, unfortunately, this is roughly what they think. We need to think about the fall of next year, when the United States will most likely have a political crisis, when it will not be easy for us to close the budget for the year. And now we need to draw some conclusions from the previous period,” emphasized Valery Chaly.
Chaly emphasized that if the United States lags somewhere in terms of political issues, then we need to increase it with our partners in Europe.
