The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) collaborated to expose a citizen attempting to provide a bribe of 200,000 hryvnias to the commander of the Operational-Strategic Unit "Odessa." Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), the investigation revealed the individual's illicit attempt to influence military operations.
Illicit Monetary Transactions
It was discovered that the funds in question were handed over by the head of a private company in exchange for the issuance of a specific order to obtain permission for fishing in a prohibited border zone. The preliminary qualification of the perpetrator's actions falls under Article 369, Part 3 (offering, promising, or providing undue advantage to a public official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Ongoing Investigation
The law enforcement agencies are currently engaged in priority investigative actions to further examine the case. The authorities are actively pursuing the legal consequences for the businessman involved in attempting to compromise military decision-making through corrupt means.
