The Japanese government has handed over a vital aid package to Ukrainian rescue teams, comprising 40 vehicles and 50 metal detectors. This humanitarian support is a testament to the international cooperation fostering Ukraine's recovery process. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yulia Sviridenko, expressed gratitude to their Japanese counterparts for their invaluable assistance, emphasizing the essential role of demining and technical surveys in Ukraine's comprehensive recovery.
Apart from vehicles and metal detectors, Japan has also provided 150 containers of soap-based fire-extinguishing liquid to Ukraine's State Emergency Service. Certificates for this equipment were formally received by Sviridenko and the acting head of the State Emergency Service, Volodymyr Demchuk, on behalf of Ukraine.
According to Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, Igor Klymenko, the vehicles and equipment contributed by Japan will significantly enhance the breadth and speed of demining operations on Ukrainian territories. Klymenko extended his gratitude to the Japanese government and the country's envoy, Kuniyori Matsuda, who oversees the demining process and collaborates closely with the Ukrainian government, acknowledging their understanding of Ukraine's challenging situation.
Japan's First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tsuji Kiyoto, expressed hope that the provided equipment and vehicles will play a crucial role in Ukraine's reconstruction. He affirmed Japan's commitment to stand with Ukraine until peace is restored to the land.
