The Shift to Microsoft
The news of Sem Altman, the former head of OpenAI, finding refuge in Microsoft has created waves in the tech world. Altman, ousted due to alleged dishonesty, declined a return to his CEO position upon the board's request. Reports suggest a compelling and lucratively positioned role awaited him elsewhere.

Talent Exodus
Alongside Altman, other ex-OpenAI employees, including co-founder Greg Brockman, have joined Microsoft. OpenAI is now on its third interim CEO within three days, with Emmett Shear, a Twitch co-founder, taking up the temporary reins.

Negotiations and Ultimatums
Following Altman's departure, rumors surfaced of negotiations for his return under pressure from Microsoft and other investors. However, Altman set a condition: he'd only return post a complete board resignation. Consequently, a decision within the leadership remains pending.

Workforce Rebellion
Over 500 of OpenAI's 700 employees signed a letter threatening to resign and join Altman at Microsoft unless the board steps down and reinstates the ousted CEO.

Financial Ventures and Competition
Altman started fundraising for a chip manufacturing project named "Tigris" for AI needs, aiming to compete with Nvidia. The project garnered attention from investors and Microsoft.
