The Ukrainian side most likely does not use the received American Abrams tanks, but has left them in reserve.
Ukraine's defenders "will wait for the right moment," probably in the spring, when a new counteroffensive can be launched, retired US Marine Corps Colonel Mark Cancian, a senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, shared his opinion with Business Insider.
“Since the front is stable, the Ukrainians most likely keep them (tanks - Ed.) in reserve,” the expert shared his opinion. An American officer believes that Ukrainian soldiers, having received the first batch of Abrams, could mix them with the already received M2 Bradley (these are American infantry fighting vehicles).
The colonel believes that in winter conditions, from a logistical point of view, the decision to send small groups of Abrams and Bradleys to the front would be “ineffective.” The material notes that in winter in Ukraine it will be difficult for armored vehicles to move due to mud.
