In Odessa, due to strong winds, a serious accident occurred at a high-power boiler house - a pipe more than 100 meters high fell.
At first, the corresponding pictures appeared on the Internet, and later this information was confirmed by the city council. “We have assembled the headquarters on site and all the specialists. We are now assessing the damage and have already begun emergency work. In the morning we will assess the scale of the damage and work out a work plan to do everything so that the boiler room starts working as quickly as possible,” said Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
The City Council reported in the evening that due to bad weather and problems with power supply, there were water outages in different areas of the city. They explained this by saying that due to power surges and power outages, the pumping equipment is turned off every 10 minutes.
The vast majority of pumping stations have been switched to operation from generators, however, the significant power and technological operating conditions of some of them do not make it possible to use autonomous power sources.
