Elon Musk, the controversial entrepreneur, landed in Israel amidst a storm of accusations regarding his alleged contribution to anti-Semitism on social media platform X. Scheduled to meet President Isaac Herzog, Musk's visit aims to address the pressing need to tackle the rise of anti-Semitism on the internet.
According to Israeli media reports, Musk will also engage with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Their last meeting in California on September 18 involved Netanyahu urging Musk to strike a balance between protecting freedom of speech and combating hate speech on platform X. In response, Musk emphasized his opposition to anti-Semitism and anything that "promotes hatred and conflict."
Musk's office has not commented on the information regarding his visit to Israel.
On November 15, Musk expressed support and responded to a post claiming that Jewish communities were promoting a specific type of hatred against whites who oppose them. Media Matters later released a report revealing that advertisements from major brands were appearing alongside posts glorifying Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party on platform X.
